Rolex updates the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 and 40

In the world of Rolex, small changes are big news. One of those changes is an update to the brand’s flagship dress model, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date. Until now, the platinum version of the watch have featured a smooth bezel. Rolex’s fluted bezels were traditionally made only in gold, but with the release of Watches & Wonders 2022, Rolex has changed that. The Day-Date is now available with a fluted bezel in platinum for the 36 and 40 mm versions. There are a number of other striking new combinations available.

With the day of the week fully marked at the top of the dial, the Day-Date is a watch designed to show the status of the wearer’s life. At the top of this food chain is the platinum model. The “ice blue” dial color shown in the photo is a hallmark of platinum, as it is not found in any other metal. It indicates to others that this is indeed something special. The Day-Date also comes in a variety of dial options, from sunburst metallic black, green or gray, to meteorite and mother-of-pearl. All Day-Dates are equipped with the famous three-link “President” bracelet, made of the same metal as the case, featuring semicircular links and a concealed clasp. This is another Day-Date signature that visually distinguishes it from the less expensive Datejust models. In addition to the new bezel for the platinum model, a number of new dial colors have been released for the yellow, white and sidereal gold models.
